Week 26 – Romans 9-13
If you are like me, you have been in a hundred conversations about predestination. Usually, they never end up well. But for some reason, the topic keeps drawing us back. Maybe, we simply like heated debate. Whatever the case, most of those conversations force us back to Romans 9-11. We read it again in hopes to get clarity of this controversial topic, but we come away still wondering which interpretation is correct — does God predestine some individuals for salvation and others for damnation, or is salvation totally up to our choice. Week 25 – Romans 4-8
These chapters are the heart and soul of the Gospel message. They provide a complete picture of what Christ accomplished for us and how we are to live the Christian life. Rather than pick a few verses to write about, I ask you to share your thoughts. Here is the question to consider. When you first read through these chapters, what verse or passage gripped your heart and why? I hope many of you will share your thoughts concerning the meaning of these passages on a personal level.
Week 24 – Acts 27 – Romans 3
To the Jew first, then the Gentile. That was the order. It was how God was going to bring salvation to the entire world. We see this order throughout the New Testament. Jesus went to His own. Peter delivered the message first to the Jew on the day of Pentecost, and then much later He delivered it to Cornelius and his family, Gentiles by birth. Everywhere Paul traveled, he went first to the Synagogue to reason from Scripture that Jesus was the Christ. When they refused to listen, he went to the Gentile. Read the rest of this entry »
