E-MAIL BOB |
In the summer of 1977, at the age of 33, Bob Davis met the living ChristWhom he had learned about in his early childhoodand invited Jesus to take control of his life.
Like many people during their formative Christian years, Bob's zeal to know God in a deeper way led him to personal study of Scripture, and membership in a large, evangelical church. Much of his first five years in Christ found Bob attending Bible conferences and seminars, listening to Christian radio, and performing volunteer ministry services. Yet, with so much varying doctrinal input, the inevitable result was confusion and frustration.
In recognition of his experience in the fields of broadcasting and audio production, Bob was asked in late 1982 to work with Bob George in producing the original 15-minute edition of People to People. While listening to Bob George during taping sessions, Bob Davis began to realize God's answer to his heart's desire for clarity in understanding the Christian life.
While still operating his own business in 1985, Bob accepted an invitation from Bob George to co-host a daily program to be broadcast "live", via satellite, across the nation, and on June 3 of that year, the 55-minute edition of People to People was born.
In February of 1992, again at the invitation of Bob George, Bob Davis became a part of the full time People to People staff, continuing to serve daily as co-host of the People to People broadcast. Soon Bob's duties expanded as he became Director of Media Placement, identifying potential new radio stations, negotiating contracts, and serving as liaison for the ministry with the affiliated radio stations.
Appointed a ministry Vice President in 1998, Bob's other duties include overseeing the radio and electronic media divisions of the ministry, including administration of the on-line store, and writing and voicing promotional announcements. Says Bob, "I thank God I've had the opportunity to serve with Bob George and the People to People staff. Since October of 1982, it has been an incredible journey of learning, growth, and opportunity for ministry, and I love reading letters on the air each day from people who share how the Lord Jesus has used this ministry in a similar way in their lives."
Bob's wife Diane passed into the arms of her beloved Jesus, Monday, October 9th at 6:55 pm. Diane was a true blessing to all she met and truely displayed the fruit of the spirit.
Bob has two daughters, Shellye and Rhonda and four grandchildren.
